Hello, and allow me to retort:
Why go into studying literature and history? The fields of humanities can be learned leisurely, and many noted historians came from technical and scientific backgrounds.
Music; OK I tend to agree that learning an instrument at a young age is the way to go for prodigy perusing a career in music as a performer, a virtuoso instrumentalist or a conductor. If you merely wish to play an instrument, fortunately we live in the age of the electronic keyboard – not to mention programs like iLife and Garage Band, so its not too late!
Chess; again not too late unless you were thinking of becoming a super master. I used to play chess as a youngster when a good game meant finding another player who equally happened to be in the mood for a good game. In this day and age of zillions of computer chess programs, a good game is finding a proper level for playing against the machine. No one really cares anymore unless its Kasparov against Deep Blue!
Martial arts: OK!
Investment in the stock market; how about the pre-2000 hi-tech market? Now those were the days!
Settling in New Jersey; emmmm, what about Denver – or “Denfar” as some people say it?! ;-)
Continuing your education; whats wrong with doing it now?
Visiting the WTC “Twins”; OK. Unfortunately its one of those places that you may or may not visit in a lifetime, its like those people who went to country “X” without visiting feature “Y”. However, since it was the site of a tragedy, I tend to agree. I know someone who avoids “Ground Zero” when he visits NY nowadays, to me its Dachau, whenever I visit Munich, Germany.
Poetry; now c’mon - its not like you are at the end of your life!!! Start reading one “dewan shi3r” a week from now on, and if you find yourself enjoying it you’ll become a regular “Abu 7usam” – may he RIP!
PS: no, Ididn't forget "Cats". Maybe a revival? But it’s a good lesson, “enjoy it when you can” :-)

Going back in time simply = being young, having all the time, and different priority
As for studying history, the idea is being a scholar rather than learning history; Scholar is commitment and investigation.
The piano, I do not believe the electronic instrument will replace the genuine touch of the real piano keyboard, needless to say the feeling
For learning chess, I did want to reach the level of being a master rather a professional level. Learning it now, well you can't teach an old dog new tricks.
Stock market; I agree, but why risk and spend the whole day watch the stocks going up and down, while you can put your money in Kuwait real estates and wait 1 year, the profit is 500% guaranteed.
Dude... New Jersey?! Which exit off the turnpike?
And Cats... you did not miss anything there, so don't worry
Zaydoun, I beg to differ. I’ve seen Cats – I don’t know, many times, I think in terms of musicals attendance it comes third after Les Miserables and Phantom, and according to my last estimate I’ve seen Phantom about 19 times – in many cities on two continents.
I’ve only seen the NY and London productions of Cats, and I think part of the attraction is that it has everything a mega-musical should have for a novice to Broadway, and that’s why I’ve seen it so many times – every time I had a guest visiting me I’d take him to Cats, its light on the plot but big on entertainment value.
At the end, its all a matter of personal taste. Two musicals I tried to like but couldn’t were those based on Disney films: Beauty and the Beast & Lion King. A non-musical that I’ve seen many times and absolutely loved – but it was panned by almost everyone I know – was Art.
A play that still amazes me in terms of how steady it has remained to its true core even after more than 50 years is, you guessed it: The Mousetrap, but of course I absolutely adore Agatha Christi!
